One of the shops that is on my to do list every week for bargains is Het Goed in Nijmegen. This is a secondhand shop that sells absolutely anything. If you are looking for clothes, gadgets, furniture (for inside and outside!), anything you can be sure to find what you need here!
I do have to say that they do intend to be on the pricey side from time to time, but if you find exactly what you are looking for I assure you, you will be willing to pay the price!
Now I do have to say that I am slightly prejudice about this shop, being that I worked here for 6 years during my college years! It sure helped me give my house a big vintage boost during my 'do not have so much cash for new furniture' years!:)
Now this shop you will find all over Holland as they are quite a big name over here and have around 20 stores. And they don't have the thrift store look as they are constantly rearanging the shop look and have new themes for their window display every 6 weeks. What I find great about this shop is that they are completely dependant on customers and the items that they donate to the shop to make these window displays. They are quite fabulous!
Now I don't have a photo of the window displays but I do have some pictures of my favourite finds! I must apologize for the quality of the pictures beforehand, my camera broke last week and I am using my Iphone to make them... Not the best quality but it will have to do until I get my camera back!
This cabinet was brought into the shop and I fell in love with it instantly! The colours and the glass doors are absolutely wonderfull! had to have it for our home! And it's perfect for hiding away junk and books so it makes the house seem tidy ;)
This lamp was nearly discarded by a colleague of mine because it had damage to it! I could not believe it! So obviously i bought it home with me and it workes perfectly for that late night read (or writing blogs). And it makes a nice little stand for my owl collection:)
Nifty little thing to put all my sewing and DIY things in! It also makes an emergency stool for when we have too many guests and too little chairs!
Now this bedside table was absolutely hideous when it came into the shop! It was painted a blue-ish colour with a extra ugly handle on it! But the nightstand itself was something of a dream! I still had some paint left over from a project I was working on at the time. And the handle I found at antique market. It makes the bedroom just that more special. I love adding different elements to a room and making them all fit!
I Love cooking! And that's an understatement! Anything that I can find to make this room nicer and more homely I love. Use it or not it just looks great! And to be honest anything that makes me or my guests happy is a given!
If you live in Holland or are planning to visit here for whatever reason, you must visit this shop. You will fall in love.
You can find all the info you need and also tips on decorating your garden/house on their website.
