DIY Lace Dish

Me and lace are on good terms! I love adding pieces of lace to our home to give it that romantic vibe.
A beautiful way to add more lace to your home and also one that has a purpose is by making lace dishes. They can be made as big or as small as you like and can hold all sorts of items like your housekeys or even sweeties:)

What you need to make lace dishes:
- Lace or doilies (you can find these in thriftshops)
- Modpodge
- Scissors
- Brush
- Bowl

If the piece of lace or doilly is too big for your liking, you need to cut it to size. Using paper or plastic, cover your surface so that you won't damage it. Place your cut out lace onto the surface and with a brush cover it completely with ModPodge.

To be sure you have covered the entire piece you can always flip it over and cover the back as well. When you have covered the surface completely with the glue, place it over and old bowl or bottle to dry. Make sure that as this point you don't put and extra layer of glue on the lace because then it will stick to the bowl and there is a big chance you won't be able to get it off!
Pat the edged of the lace so that if forms the shape of the bowl, or the shape that you are aiming for, and let it dry overnight or until the glue has gone hard.

When the lace has dried. slowly lift it off the surface. If needed now is the time to trim the edges if they aren't quite even and there you have it! Your very own lace dish!

I love the way this simple DIY turned out and I think I will be making these for friends as gifts in the future! So adorable!:)

Happy DIY'ing!
